"bike2capes" means ride the bikes to the capes, or bike & two capes, or else two bikes and capes. Anyway, in 2006 we are going to visit two places:
- cape Roca in Portugal 38°46'N, 9°30'W- most western point in Europe,
- cape Marroqui in Spain 35°58' N, 5°36'W- most southern place.
Apart from that, we're going to ride up the highest road in Europe - Pico Veleta - 3398 meters height, situated in Sierra Nevada mountains in Spain.
Except the three main targets mentioned above, we are planning to visit many other places in France, Spain and Portugal. The most important are below:
- The passes in French Alps, which weren't on our route during the Alps 2004 expedition: Col d'Iseran, Cime de la Bonette,
- Visiting Barcelona,
- Gibraltar - called "Pillars of Hercules" by the ancients - it was the end of the world for them. Nowadays it's one of the few British colonies,
- Ferry from Gibraltar or Marroqui to the Ceuta - Spanish colony on the other side of Strait of Gibraltar – here the wheels of our bikes will touch African ground!
- Fatima - one of the biggest sanctuaries of The Blessed Virgin Mary in the world.
- Viaduct in French Millau - probably the biggest viaduct in the world nowadays. Unfortunately, we suspect that the road will be closed for cyclists, as currently there is a highway,
- Other beautiful cities - Seville, Toledo, Lisbon, Madrid....
- We have to visit Bayern Munich's new stadium, because when we have visited Munich last year, it has been under construction.
- Andorra - one of the smallest countries in Europe.
